Kampala City residents have been warned over possible floods as the rains begin to intensfy, The town Clerk, Ruth Kijjambu has warned. Ruth confirmed that heavy rains have been predicted to last till
december.

“The city is in a vulnerable position because of the high concentration of people, vehicles and buildings,” reads the notice, warning of the possibility of floods, disease outbreaks and the collapse of houses built in wrong places or with weak materials. Kijjambu advised residents to take precautions to ensure safety of lives and property.
All the five divisions of Kampala were listed as prone to flooding, as EL-Nino rains are expected to start next month.
