MUK to admit more students after low initial take up

makerere_university2.jpgMAKERERE University has re-advertised 15 courses after it failed to admit the required number of private students. The courses are believed to be in the faculties of computing and information technology (ICT), forestry and nature conservation, veterinary medicine, science, arts and adult and continuing education.

The ICT courses are new, so many students may not have known about them at the time of application,

Michael Niyitegeka, an official at the Faculty of Technology, said.

“We did not get the required number to be admitted this year. We need more students to apply for the courses,” Micheal Niyitegeka From the University said. "So far, the university has admitted 13,455 privately-sponsored undergraduate students for 166 programmes, out of 25,000 applicants." He said.
