warids_general_manager_zul_javaid.jpgWARID Telecom’s customers have hit 1.2 million, the chief executive officer (CEO), Zul Javaid, has said. During the opening of switching centre 11 at Bugolobi in Kampala, Javaid said the telecom business was full of risks but they had come up with risk mitigation strategies.

"We intend to have over six million customers by the end of this year. The opening of this centre will enable us handle network problems and customers’ queries," he said.

Javaid said the centre can supply power for 30 days using generators in case there is a power black-out.

The information and communications technology (ICT) minister, Aggrey Awori, hailed WARID for expanding and building a modern centre that could handle network problems.
