London - One in five Britons find monogamy undesirable and nearly a third think it is unnatural, according to a sex survey out on Sunday. Asked about homosexuality, 24% thought gay sex should be made illegal. The ICM poll, in a 70-page supplement in The Observer newspaper, found that women were more likely to view monogamy as natural and desirable, while young Britons were "significantly more promiscuous than previous generations".

The former editor-in-chief of the New Vision, who resigned on Friday, has blamed the company for abandoning editorial independence.
In a statement she issued late on Friday, Ms De Temmerman said she was assured editorial independence upon taking up the job nearly two years ago. “Reluctantly, however, I have concluded that I can no longer count on the assurances I received when I accepted the job and so I must resign,” she wrote.
