Jomayi sprint Rally attracts 27 Drivers
Kampala

car_rally_1.jpgTHE Motorsport Africa Club (Mosac) sprint set for the newly built Jomayi Beach Estate at Nalugala, one mile off Garuga Road in Entebbe today has attracted mammoth 27 drivers.

The good response has been provoked by the will of local drivers to give back to their fans by providing fierce competition according to Mosac President Robert Byasbashaija.

“All the drivers are in to give the fans what they always want to cheer about. They are here for us everyday so they deserve a huge turn up,” Byaabashaija told Daily Monitor before commending Jomayi Property Consultants for sinking Shs20m into the event.

2006 national champion and current NRC leader Ronald Ssebuguzi in a Mitsubishi Evo.4 will start as slight favourite but the chasing pack of Subarus will provide a formidable challenge.

It boasts of 1999 African champion Charles Muhangi, speedster Riyaz Kurji, Africa Rally Championship (ARC) contender Jas Mangat and 2007 sports press personality nominee Susan 'Super Lady' Muwonge.

car_rally_2.jpg Hot on their heels will be Dr Ashraf Ahmed who will be hoping to build on his second place finish in Luweero last month and stretch his lead in the Clubman Rally Championship.

Club East Enders, Life and Property Security, Paragon Hospital, Fire and Safety appliances, TLC Club, Crown Beverages and Simba Telecom are the co-sponsors of the event.
