27 M poured into Uganda Open Table Tennis Championship

table_tannis_star_eugeny_krakov.jpgNATIONAL Social Security Fund has poured sh27m into the Uganda Open Table Tennis Championship that got underway Friday at Lugogo Indoor Stadium, attracting participants from as far away as Europe.

The three-day tournament that is sponsored by NSSF and is supported by Crown Beverages and Sekanyolya was officially launched by the managing director of NSSF David Chandi Jamwa and Uganda Table Tennis Association president Emmanuel Matsyestye.

“In line with our strategic plan, we are coming in to support the table tennis sport because we believe it is one way of developing people's minds especially the young people,” Jamwa said at the launch.

Foreign teams include the Mariedo and Ulcerehma from Sweden, Morning Star from Burundi, Rafiki from Rwanda, Tanga from Tanzania, Nairobi, Kisumu and Nakuru from Kenya.
