Ugandan Central Bank to reduce interest rates

KAMPALA - The Bank of Uganda is planning to reduce interest rates in an effort to allow more people to borrow, Mr Tumusime Mutebile has hinted.

“I want to reduce interest rates in the market so I have to cut bank rates. I do not have any intention of intervening in the markets to control interest rates,” he told journalists earlier in the week.

Henry Wako Muloki ruled over Busoga, one of Uganda's major five kingdoms. Locals described the king as a man who talked to young and old, and the most unifying factor in the region, he said. He was a very popular King.
 
Ugandan LRA Rebel leader to be targeted in DR Congo

The campaign follows failed attempts to negotiate an end to the rebellion by his Lord's Resistance Army. Congo's army has sent 200 troops to the northern town of Dungu, where hundreds have sought refuge from the LRA.

 
Tanzania, Uganda to build Hydro dam on River Kagera
