First polls close in US with odds stuck against McCain
mcain_john_us_senator_2.jpgWashington - The first polls in the historic US elections closed in parts of Indiana and Kentucky on Tuesday with no results yet in the presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain.
Democratic White House hopeful Obama made his very last campaign swing through Indiana on Tuesday hoping to sway the traditionally red Republican state his way.

Uganda struggling with oil shortage.

fuel_shortage1.jpgMotorists in Uganda are struggling to get fuel and the position is worse in KAMPALA as tankers get stuck in Malaba border post due to inefficiences  of the Government Revenue Authority, resulting in panick buying of fuel especially in Kampala. Diesel shot up from sh2,380 to sh2,600 while kerosene increased from sh2,250 to sh2,350.

 
Ralph Banda Takes Zambian Presidency and is sworn in.
banda_ralph_president_of_zambia.jpgZambia's acting head of state, Rupiah Banda, has been sworn in as president, just two hours after officials said he had narrowly won Thursday's election. According to final results, Mr Banda beat the main opposition candidate, Michael Sata, by 40.1% to 38.1%.
 
Collin Powell expected to come to Uganda for summit
