Water, and Juice makers on mandatory registration |
THE Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has started mandatory registration of all makers of bottled water and juice. Meeting the manufacturers at Hotel Africana in Kampala, the standards body announced the introduction of a safety mark (S-mark) to appear on all products that meet minimum safety requirements.
Moses Sebunya, the UNBS principal public relations officer, said the
registration exercise was prompted by the increased number of
manufacturers of these drinks.
