| Nakaseke District accounts frozen for non payment of tax |

The Uganda Revenue Authority has frozen the main accounts of Nakaseke district Council for non payment of PAYE . According to a letter from the URA Domestic Taxes Department manager, Julie Kiwanuka Njuba, the debt was discovered after a comprehensive audit covering the period between 2005 and 2008.
Unfortunately, the chief administrative officer (CAO) and chief internal auditor of that period are no longer in office. The then chief internal auditor, Patrick Kaweesa, resigned last year, while the CAO, Andrew Kyamanywa, died.                |
