| May inflation rate in Uganda slows to 12.4 percent |
|
"The main inflation driver remained food inflation," the statistics office said in a statement. Food prices, which make up 27.2% of the consumer price index, climbed 2.1% in May from a month earlier, after a 4.5% rise in April. Prices of petrol, diesel, charcoal and firewood all declined, while prices of cement, some household goods and education materials rose, it said.
