The
permanent secretary ministry of lands has admitted that the high
corruption scandals in his ministry is as a result of under funding on
the part of government. The result is high corruption giving way to agents who also rob the public off their money promising to get them proper land documents.
According to the recent Inspector general of governments report, the ministry of lands housing and urban development, was ranked among the top five most corrupt institutions in the country with police being the top most. Lands registry was singled out indicating that several individuals have in their possession different land titles for one peace of land. The permanent secretary ministry of lands Gabindadde Musoke says his ministry is understaffed and therefore difficult to monitor its activities. |
