| Burundi floods kill 4 |
 Bujumbura - At least four people died and three seriously injured when heavy downpours destroyed 16 houses in a village in Burundi, a local official said on Wednesday.
"Torrential rains mixed with very violent winds hit the area of
Buhororo between midnight and dawn," said Helmenegilde Nzeyimana, an
administrator for this region 39km north of the capital Bujumbura.One pregnant woman and three children died when their houses collapsed, said Nzeyimana, adding that the death toll could increase. Several areas were cut-off from outside help when floodwaters destroyed bridges in the first downpours of the central African country's rainy season.                |
