Ugee

Uganda is one of the countries in Africa where the internet is so expensive that fewer people in the country use the internet. UTL The dominant provoder is so expensive that even the largest organisations like Makerere University that needs the internet for the students is struggling to keep up with the collossal sums that fall due monthly.

Makerere University has been cut off from the internet three times in two years due to non payment.  The cost of the internet to the university is estimated at a crippling 70 million shillings per month. 

Students and University officials alike are left to seek internet from cafes in the neighbouring villages of Wandegeya and Mulago.
