President Museveni in New York for UN summit
museveni_in_new_york.jpgPresident Yoweri Museveni is now in New York in the USA to attend the 63rd United National General Assembly at the UN headquarters, reported by The Uganda Media  Center. The President, who is accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Janet Museveni, was received yesterday at the J.F. Kennedy International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sam Kutesa, Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. Francis Butagira, and Uganda’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Professor Perez Kamunanwire.
Also to receive the President were MPs Kaahwa Erisa Amooti of Buruli County in Masindi district and Nyago Kibwika Lydia, women legislator for Namutumba district.

During his stay in New York, President Museveni will attend the opening ceremony of the General debate of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly and later address the General Assembly.

He will also chair a meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of State; hold talks with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon as well as the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Mr. Kamalesh Sharma.

The President will also hold talks with a number of Heads of State attending the UN General Assembly.
