Mugabe Praises Mbeki for mediation |
Harare - Robert Mugabe poured praise on his South African counterpart Thabo Mbeki at his presidential swearing-in ceremony on Sunday, hailing him as a statesman for his mediation efforts in Zimbabwe.
"We are grateful to SADC (Southern African Development Community) and
the role of statesman played by President Mbeki," Mugabe said.
"Zimbabwe is indebted to his untiring efforts to promote harmony and
peace in Zimbabwe." International sources however have identified Mbeki
of not doing enough and allowing Mugabe to use his militia to
intimidate voters that led to the opposition to pull out of the poll.
