Myanmar: 133 000 dead, missing
burmese_children.jpgRangoon - Myanmar said on Friday more than 133 000 people were dead or missing in the cyclone disaster, with the huge increase due to difficulties in confirming the figures earlier, state television reported. It said 77 738 were dead and 55 917 missing - with 19 359 people injured. The report said that numbers had not been able to be confirmed by officials until Thursday due to the scope of the original disaster and bad weather since.
It said 159 government staff were among the dead, with 58 missing and another four who were injured.
