| Kampala food prices stable |
 NEW harvests have started flowing into Kampala’s major markets but prices are unlikely to go down, a weekly survey has shown. Robert Mugisa, a trader at Nakasero Market, said prices remained stable. Simsim and groundnuts sell at sh2,500 a kilo, the same as last week.Maize flour sells at sh1,400, beans and peas at sh1,500 a kilo, unchanged from last week. Cassava flour sells for sh800, rice for sh2,100 a kilo. Irish potatoes go for sh1,500, onions and tomatoes sh1,000 a kilo, also unchanged from last week. A bunch of matooke goes for sh7,000 to sh10,000. A heap of cassava sh1,000 like the previously week.                |
