| Acholi told to borrow using titles |
 THE Acholi people should use their land titles to acquire loans from the various banks that have opened branches in Gulu. “Now that Gulu and Amuru districts have put in place land committees; please start the process of acquiring land certificates for use as security to get loans,” Rtd Col. Walter Ochora, the Gulu resident district commissioner, said.He disclosed: “Kenya Commercial Bbank and Orient Bank have approached me for spaces to put up their branches in Gulu. “This is very good competition because when you don’t welcome me in bank A, I move to bank B. “The competition is good for Gulu, which is becoming a commercial hub with the prevailing peace.” He was speaking during a Centenary Bank customer day at St. Monica Girls Tailoring School over the weekend. Ochora challenged the bank to use the mobile banking system so that the services are spread throughout the war-ravaged villages.                |
