Rushoroza to be insured

KABALE-St. Mary’s College Rushoroza will insure its property valued at sh2b against fire and other calamities. The head teacher, Amos Ruhumuriza, said the insurance would cost sh5m annually. Ruhumuriza said this during the annual Parents and Teachers Association meeting held at the school on Sunday. In 2003, a fire broke out at the school and over 60 students lost their property.

“If we had an insurance policy, they would have compensated us for the property burnt in the inferno,” Ruhumuriza said. The school will also construct a sh200m examination hall, he added. The executive members of the association included Polly Bujura, Remegio Byamukama, Immaculate Oshaba, Alex Musherure, Peter Ssebukuzo and Jerminah Kamara.
