Uganda Govt to increase funding to the Health Sector
mulago_hospital_2.jpgGovernment is to allocate more funds to the health sector in the wake of increased deaths caused by malaria and HIV/Aids. This year alone government has released an additional 5 billion shillings to fight malaria.  The release of additional funds to the health sector was announced by the Minister of state for Finance Fred Omach at the launch of the 10- year strategic plan for the Population Secretariat.

He says government's emphasis is to improve the health sector in order to reduce the high death rates caused by malaria and HIV/ Aids

He says that the 10- year strategic plan which is aimed at provide effective planning for the rapidly growing population will cost over 29 billion shillings overa period of ten years.

The director population secretariat Charles Zirarema says the strategic plan aims at providing a successful implementation of the population programme with a view to mitigating the adverse effects of high population growth.
