According to results released last Friday, Mugabe lost the first round of the presidential election to opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai but is likely to contest a run-off on a date that has yet to be determined. Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change party is yet to announce whether its leader will take part in the second round. The MDC insists that it won an overall majority in the first round of voting. The ZEC results showed that Tsvangirai won 47.9% against 43.2% for President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF. |
