| Liberia Delegation to inspect Uganda's Public Service |

The success of Uganda 's Public Service System has drawn the attention of a number of African countries some of which have come here to study how the system operates. Attention has been drawn to the structure of the system and the success of the decentralized system which has enabled people at the grassroot to get social services and participate in the democratization process. A five man delegation from Liberia 's Public Service which is now in the country has held talks with the Second deputy prime Minister and Minister for public Service Henry Muganwa Kajura on the implementation of the civil service reforms. The deputy Premier told the team that is led by Director Civil Service Agency of Liberia Dr. William Allen, that his ministry is undertaking a number of reforms that are aimed at strengthening the civil Service. He said that one of the obstacles to efficient service delivery is the poor remuneration of the Civil Servants which the reforms are trying to address. The leader of the visiting delegation said his team was impressed by the decentralization system of government which he said would be introduced in his country. The team is scheduled to travel to Rwanda and Botswana to study the public service systems there. |
