| SACCOs to receive sh11b |
 THE finance ministry has disbursed sh11b to Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) under the Prosperity For All programme. Charles Byanyima, the director of the Micro-finance Support Centre, that handles the rural poverty eradication scheme funds, said out of the 325 SACCOs that have received the funds, only 85% had managed to pay back.He was speaking at a workshop on micro-finance for Nakawa Division at Sports View Hotel Kireka over the weekend. Bynyima said some SACCOs had not fulfilled the requirements. “It’s a shame to see many people waiting for the Prosperity for all funds without belonging to any group. No one will access the funds individually,” he noted.                |
